I’m considering installing Fedora 39 on my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11. Are there any quirks or issues I should be aware of? How’s the overall compatibility, especially with things like the touchpad, fingerprint sensor, and battery life? Any tips would be great!

I’ve been running Fedora 39 on my X1 Carbon Gen 11 for a couple of months now. The touchpad is fine, but I noticed the fingerprint sensor didn’t work until I installed some extra packages. Battery life could be better, but it’s not terrible. Just be prepared to do some minor troubleshooting, especially with the fingerprint sensor.

I had a few issues when I first installed Fedora 39 on my X1 Carbon Gen 11, like others said, mainly with the fingerprint sensor. It didn’t work out of the box, but I found a guide that helped me get it working. The touchpad is great, and the battery life is acceptable, though it’s not as good as what you’d get on Windows. Overall, it’s a good experience with a bit of tweaking.

I've been using Fedora 39 on my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 for a while now, and the overall compatibility is pretty solid. The touchpad worked perfectly without any additional setup. However, the fingerprint sensor might require a bit of extra work—installing the fprintd package and configuring it should do the trick. Battery life is slightly shorter compared to Windows, but it's still decent. I’d recommend tweaking the power settings in Fedora to extend it. Also, make sure to keep your system updated, as newer kernels often bring better hardware support. All in all, it's a great match for this laptop with just a few adjustments!

I think you’ll be fine with Fedora 39 on the X1 Carbon Gen 11. My experience has been mostly positive. The touchpad works great, and while the fingerprint sensor needed some extra setup, it wasn’t too hard to get it working. Battery life isn’t as long as on Windows, but it’s good enough. Just make sure to check for updates regularly to keep everything running smoothly.
