I'm a bit stuck on one detail before trying Linux– how much disk space should I allocate for Linux? I want to ensure I have enough room for the OS, essential applications, and some experimentation, but I'm also mindful of not overcommitting space that I might need for Windows. Could anyone with experience in setting up Linux systems share their thoughts on the ideal space allocation for a beginner's setup?

When allocating disk space for Linux, consider the minimum requirements (15-25 GB), essential applications (1-2 GB), experimentation (10-20% of total disk space), and future growth (10-12 months).

For a beginner's setup, allocate 20-30 GB for a minimal installation, 50-70 GB for a standard installation, or 100-150 GB for a full-featured installation. Keep some extra space available for unexpected needs or future growth.

I hope it helps!

@sravan Perfect! That is great info! Thanks.
