I'm on the lookout for reliable and efficient open source alternatives to the Adobe Creative Suite, covering needs from photo editing and graphic design to video editing. Adobe's offerings are comprehensive, but I want to know what the open source world has to offer.

Very more! For example: Il -> Inkscape; Ph -> Gimp; Pr -> ShotCut; Ae -> Natron; Au -> Audacity.

@chicha Great suggestions, thanks!

If you're looking for an all-in-one alternative that covers a wide range of Adobe Suite functionalities, you should definitely explore Krita for digital painting and image editing, Inkscape for vector graphics, and Blender for 3D modeling and video editing. Krita offers an intuitive interface and an extensive set of brushes, making it perfect for artists. Inkscape is ideal for vector artwork, and Blender is incredibly powerful for anything 3D, including animation and video editing. These tools together provide a comprehensive suite for creative work on Linux.

@quantumcat Thanks! I will try those apps.

Hi! For photo editing, you might want to check out GIMP. It's quite powerful and is often referred to as the open source Photoshop. It runs great on Linux and supports a wide range of plugins for extra functionality.

For vector graphics, similar to Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape is a fantastic choice. It's user-friendly and supports SVG format natively. It's very versatile for graphic design work.

For video editing on Linux, DaVinci Resolve is technically not open source, but it has a free version that's very powerful. It might not fully replace Adobe Premiere, but it's definitely worth considering for professional video work.

Also, one more thing I just remembered, you might also want to check out Darktable for photo editing, especially if you're into photography. It's more of a Lightroom alternative, focusing on photo management and raw processing. It's quite powerful for photographers looking to ditch the Adobe subscription.

sudo apt update sudo apt install inkscape

 To Install Blender:

sudo apt update sudo apt install blender

 For GIMP (Photo Editing):

 For DaVinci Resolve (Video Editing):

DaVinci Resolve isn't available directly from the Ubuntu repositories. You'll need to download the Linux version from the official website and follow the installation instructions provided there.

For Scribus (Desktop Publishing):

sudo apt update sudo apt install scribus

For Audacity (Audio Editing):
